Rob Turner is on the look out for cricketers and dancers in early July
SOMERSET - 11 June 2002

Rob Turner is looking for teams to take part in his six a side cricket competition at Honiton Cricket Club on Monday July 1st. The event is being organised locally at the Devon club by Richard Marker, and any individual or business who would like to be involved with the competition should make contact with him on 01404 45576.

The next big focus of attention for Rob Turner’s benefit year now turns to The Summer Ball, which will be held on the lawns in front of Taunton School on Saturday July 6th.

The evening gets underway at 7pm with drinks on the lawn before dinner is served at 8pm. During the evening there will be a fun casino, and there will be dancing until the early hours to the much acclaimed steel band ‘Caribbean Express.

This is a real opportunity for the ladies to dress up and the gents to don a black tie. The bar will remain open until 12.30 and carriages will leave at 1am.

Rob told me: “The Summer Ball is the next event locally for people to come along and support and we hope that a lot of people will join with us for what promises to be a really big evening.”

Tickets for The Summer Ball are priced at £35 each and are available from the Benefit Office at The County Ground in Taunton, 01823 272946, or from Doreen Barnes on 01435 230489.

Rob Turner’s Golf Day at Enmore Park on Monday this week was a great success, and a most enjoyable time was had by all of those who took part.

Earlier today Rob told me: “The course was in excellent condition, and we were made most welcome by everybody at the club. I would like to thank everybody who helped to organise the event, and in particular Bob Staples who did the lions share of the work.”
