Hanif Mohammad starts coaching assignment
Pakistan Cricket Board - 23 July 2002

The legendary Pakistan batsman, Hanif Mohammad, popularly known as the "Little Master" has started his coaching assignment at the PCB Regional Academy at Muridke on Monday.

The former Pakistan Captain, who had earlier done similar task at the Karachi Academy will be continuing his coaching assignment at Muridke till July 26th 2002.

Hanif has been impressed with the abundance of talent among the boys who too were excited at being coached by a world famous cricketer.

Hanif talked to the trainees, later watched them at the nets and straightaway found some areas which needed attention and improvement. These weaknesses pertained to the grip problem of few, importance of foot work and proper technique to play the spin bowling.

Hanif began his work out with the boys in the right earnest, who have former test cricketers Aaqib Javed and Azhar Khan as the regular coaches at the Academy.

Hanif's stint at the Academy follows earlier coaching assignments by Australian fielding coach Trevor Chappel, and a number of other visiting coaches from Australia and England. Currently Zaheer Abbas, the master batsman of the yore is also coaching the players at the PCB Peshawar and Rawalpindi Academies.
