PCB Director thanks Bangladesh Cricket Board Pakistan Cricket Board - 30 January 2002
Director PCB returned from Dhaka on 28th January 2002. He had gone there on January 23, to represent the Chairman in the closing stages of the 1st Pakistan Full Test Tour to Bangladesh. During his short stay, he met with Mr. Ashraful Haq, Honorary Secretary of BCB and other Directors of their Board. He spent a day at the Board Secretariat. On behalf of the Chairman he met the President of the BCB Mr. Ali Asghar, MP and their Sports Minister Mr. Faziur Rehman, offering them the support and help of the PCB for the development of cricket in Bangladesh. The Director PCB also took a tour of the BKSP, i.e. the Bangladesh Institute of Sports, located outside Dhaka. He also took a tour of some of the of the famous clubs of Dhaka vis, Mohammadan Sporting, Abahoni Sports and Dhanmandi Sports, besides watching some part of the Dhaka Under-13, and the Dhaka Schools Tournament, in progress. The Director PCB was also very warmly received by his former Army batch mates and Instructors with whom he had served prior to the separation of East Pakistan. He watched the 2 ODI in Dhaka and took part in the official BCB dinner for the Pakistan Team.
He says; "I return carrying with me good feelings of great courtesy, friendship and hospitality extended by the officials of the BCB, and a deep appreciation of their passion and desire to develop the game. At the grassroots their plans are systematic."
