Australian Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland today announced that the National Selection Panel had chosen the following squad for the VB Series match against South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Tuesday 22 January:

The one change from the previous squad is the omission of Queensland batsman Matthew Hayden.
The match between Australia and South Africa at the SCG on 22 January is sold out. The umpires are Daryl Harper and Darrell Hair with Simon Taufel the third umpire and Hanumant Singh (India) the International Cricket Council match referee.
The match is a day-night game starting at 1430.
