John Higson to stand down as chairman Mark Alleyne - 17 January 2002
John Higson has decided that, after six years in the post, he will not be standing for re-election as chairman of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. He states that he has thoroughly enjoyed his time in the position. It has been a most interesting and not unsuccessful period, with the county winning four out of five consecutive finals at Lord's. He intends to continue to fully support the club at every opportunity and wishes all success and satisfaction to the incoming chairman who will be appointed on 5th February. John finished by thanking the players, the staff, the committee and the members for all their support during his period in office. © CricInfo
