Maharashtra bowled out on Day One Staff Reporter - 6 January 2002
Consistent batting performances throughout the line-up took Maharashtra to a total of 321 on Day One of their Ranji Trophy league match against Baroda at Pune on Saturday. An opening partnership of 111 between JS Narse and Niranjan Godbole served as a good foundation for the innings. Narse made exactly 50, while Godbole scored 63. The two departed in quick succession, however, and the next sizeable partnership was of 106 runs for the fourth wicket between Abhijit Kale and KD Aphale. Kale made 65 off 76 balls, dismissed with the score on 235. Aphale fell 11 runs later, having scored 43. Thereafter, no significant scores emerged, and Maharashtra folded for 321 in 87.1 overs. For Baroda, HS Parmar took 3-71 off 17 expensive overs. © CricInfo
