On a request made the team management to the Chairman of the National Selection Committee and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport, it was decided to retain the same team that won the first Test, for the second Test of the Janashakthi National Test series between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, to be played at the Asgiriya International Cricket Stadium from the 4-8 Janauary 2002.
