PCB announces schedule for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-I 2001-02 Cricket Tournament Pakistan Cricket Board - 2 January 2002
Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-I 2001-2002 Cricket Tournament will start on January 2, 2002, heralding the commencement of First Class in full swing. Altogether eighteen teams are participating in this premier cricket tournament of Pakistan, which consists of 14 Association teams (both Lahore and Karachi fielding two teams each) and 4 Rest Elevens from each of the provinces. There are two groups in the competition and the final will be played from March 1 - 5. There are a total of 17 venues for these first class matches, with Lahore Country Club and Gymkhana Club, Okara, being the two new first class grounds being introduced by PCB this year. The venues are Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot, Lahore Country Club Murdike, LCCA Ground, Lahore, Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, KRL Stadium, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi Stadium, Arbab Niaz Stadium Peshawar, KCCA Stadium, Karachi, National Stadium Karachi, Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur Stadium Bahawalpur, Academy Cricket Ground Gujranwala, Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala, Jinnah Stadium Sialkot, Sports Stadium Sargodha, Sheikhupura Stadium, Sheikhupura and Gymkhana Ground Okara.
