PCB announces organisational plans for ATC Final Test being played, Mar 6-10 Pakistan Cricket Board - 22 February 2002
LAHORE: A meeting was held here on Thursday at the PCB Headquarters Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, under the chairmanship of Brig. Munawar Ahmed Rana, Director PCB to review the overall arrangements for the forthcoming Final of Asian Test Championship to be played in Lahore fro March 6-10. PCB is organizing the Test Match on behalf of Asian Cricket Council. Responsibility for all the arrangements at the Gaddafi Stadium including sale of tickets, security, etc, have been assigned to LCCA. In view of keen rivalry between the two finalists namely Sri Lanka and Pakistan, who both possess star players, cricket fans starved of test cricket during the season are looking forward to a close and well contested competition. However with a view to attracting larger attendance at the match the admission ticket rates for the match have been reduced in comparison to the last series vs. England held in 2000-2001. An Organizing Committee has been sent up under Director PCB with heads of Operations, Administration. Marketing and Media department as members, to supervised and coordinate the overall arrangements. Maximum work on ground is being assigned to the LCCA cooperation of the local administration is being sought as hitherto fore.
