Adam Parore to take a break from cricket

CLEAR Black Caps and Auckland wicket-keeper, Adam Parore, with the support of New Zealand Cricket, has decided to take an indefinite break from all cricket.

New Zealand Cricket chief executive, Martin Snedden, said Parore had advised New Zealand Cricket that he was exhausted and needed a break to refresh himself.

"Adam was disappointed not to be selected in the CLEAR Black Caps one-day side for the current series against England. However his non-selection has given him an opportunity to reflect on his position and he has decided that he needs a complete break from cricket to rediscover his energy to play the game.

"New Zealand Cricket is supportive of Adam's decision. Adam is one of our longest-serving members of the current team having played for New Zealand in both forms of the game for the past ten years. We respect his request for a break and we hope that he returns stronger and fitter in due course," Snedden said.

Parore will not be available for any of the remaining five State Championship matches for the State Auckland Aces.

He has not yet decided whether he wishes to be available for selection for The National Bank Series Tests against England. A date for the selection of the CLEAR Black Caps Test team will not be confirmed until the One-Day International Series has been completed.
