Lancashire Cricket Board appoints new secretary
Media Release - 19 February 2002
The new Secretary of the Lancashire Cricket Board is to be the former Lancashire cricketer Andrew Hayhurst. He will take up his appointment early in April replacing David Edmundson who had held the position since 1996.
After starting his first-class career with Lancashire in 1985, Hayhurst, aged 39 from Worsley, moved to Somerset in 1990 where he was captain for the last 3 years of his 7-year stay. He then moved to Derbyshire County Cricket Club where he became Director of Cricket and Coaching as well as Development Manager. The Lancashire Cricket Board is confident he will make a great contribution to cricket development and the recreational game in the County.
