Australian Cricket Board statement regarding blackmail allegations
The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today confirmed Victoria Police is investigating allegations that a person has attempted to blackmail the ACB.
ACB Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said that with a police investigation now underway it would be inappropriate to comment further.
"Clearly this is an issue that we take very seriously. We reported the incident to the police when it occurred and have been cooperating with its investigation since this time," Mr Sutherland said.
"Given that this is now the subject of a police investigation it would be inappropriate for the ACB to make any further comment or discuss the details of the police investigation."
