This week at the SACA South Australian Cricket Association - 11 February 2002
PURA CUP The Redbacks will play the Queensland Bulls in a Pura Cup match at Adelaide Oval from this Wednedsday, in what looks set to be a critical game for the home team. With the Bulls currently topping the table with 22 points and the Redbacks a close second on 20, a first innings win would take the Redbacks to equal first place, an outright win taking them to 26. The Redbacks Pura Cup team is as follows:
Queensland Bulls
ING CUP After defeating the QLD Bulls in Brisbane on Friday and also gaining a bonus point, the Redbacks are now equal top with the Bulls on 27 points, with the NSW Blues a close third on 26 points. The Redbacks play their last ING Cup match against the QLD Bulls on Sunday at Adelaide Oval. Western Australia play the NSW Blues on Wednesday night and with the Warriors currently on 22 points, a win would see them fall short of gaining a finals berth, but would mean that the Redbacks would be assured of making the final whatever the outcome of Sundays match. However the Redbacks need to win on Sunday to ensure a home final. South Australia last hosted a domestic limited overs final in 1984 where South Australia defeated Western Australia.
