The WACA has declared a huge success and congratulated its patrons for the quality of the One-Day internationals held at the WACA ground over the past weekend. The combined crowd figure of 40,505 (15,196 Friday & 25,287 Sunday) was a near record aggregate for the two One-Day Internationals held at the WACA ground each season. The record aggregate of 43,021, set on 14 & 16 February 1994, is also for Australia v South Africa and New Zealand v South Africa fixtures. The total was set at a time when the WACA ground still housed the now demolished Farley and Member's stands, adding to its capacity. Friday's attendance was a record attendance for a neutral International fixture held at the WACA ground, beating the previous record of 14 810 for New Zealand v South Africa in 1994 WACA Chief Executive Officer Kath White said, "On behalf of the WACA I would like to thoroughly congratulate all patrons who attended the VB series games at the WACA ground over the past weekend. "The ICC and the ACB are always concerned with ensuring the safety of players and patrons. I m sure they would be pleased if the crowd behaved at each game, to the level that was displayed at the WACA ground over the past weekend. While there were some minor issues, the crowd overall was fantastic Next season the WACA ground will again host international cricket matches on the following dates.
