Bulls teams named for Redbacks
Queensland Cricket - 6 February 2002

The Queensland selectors have today named the XXXX Queensland Bulls teams for their crucial double of matches against the Southern Redbacks starting with Friday's ING Cup match at the Gabba.

The Bulls side for Friday will include Australian players Matthew Hayden and Andy Bichel, who will play their final matches for Queensland before departing on the tour of South Africa next week.

Bichel is the only change to the team that defeated the Victorian Bushrangers last week at the Gabba to retain first place in the domestic one-day competition. He replaces Scott Muller for the match.

Queensland can ensure a berth in the ING Cup Final on February 24 if they win on Friday night, and will definitely host the Final if they back up to defeat the Redbacks in the return clash at the Adelaide Oval on February 17.

South Australia last won a one-day match in Brisbane in 1984, losing seven of their eight matches to date.

The team for the Pura Cup match against the Redbacks at the Adelaide Oval from next Wednesday features the return of paceman Ashley Noffke (ankle) from injury and the inclusion of left-hander Lee Carseldine.

Carseldine will make his initial first class appearance this season following some solid performances for the Queensland Academy of Sport including two double centuries, the most recent last month against the ACT in an ACB Cup 2nd XI match.

The Bulls have lost their past two Pura Cup matches but still lead the competition by two points from the Redbacks.

BULLS TO ASSIST CAMPAIGN

Injured Bulls captain Stuart Law, wicket-keeper Wade Seccombe and injured pace bowler Adam Dale will assist the Leukaemia Foundation tomorrow from 12.30pm in their World's Greatest Shave for a Cure campaign.

It will be the third time the Bulls have assisted the Leukaemia Foundation with their major fund-raising and awareness activity.

The trio will meet at Mincom House at 196 Herston Road, Herston for the launch, with Law and Seccombe shaving their heads and Dale having his coloured.
