ICC Appoints Chief Financial Officer

ICC Development International (IDI), a member of the ICC group today
announced the appointment of Faisal Hasnain as its first Chief Financial Officer.
Hasnain joins from Citibank, London and joins recent recruits in former South African international David Richardson as General Manager - Cricket and in house lawyer Urvasi Naidoo, recruited from the IOC Winter Olympic Games organisation.
With extensive experience across the full spectrum of financial disciplines during 15 years international finance experience and having worked in England, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Hasnain has the breadth of international experience required to fill this senior role in the management of the international game.
On announcing the appointment ICC Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed commented:
"I am delighted that we have been able to attract such a highly qualified and experienced candidate for this position, I am confident that he will soon be a key member of our senior management team and that he will make a significant contribution to the development of the organisation."
Hasnain will be responsible for managing the financial operation of a group which, in 2001, had a turnover in excess of $21 million. The group's main commercial partner is the Global Cricket Corporation which guarantees it an income of US$550 million over a seven year period concluding with the 2007 ICC World Cup scheduled to take place in the West Indies.
Faisal Hasnain is 42 years old, a UK qualified Chartered Accountant educated in Pakistan and trained in England. He holds dual British/Pakistan nationality and will be based in the IDI offices in Monaco.
