Giles not fit for Melbourne Media Release - 13 December 2002
England left-arm spinner, Ashley Giles, who broke a bone in his left wrist while practicing prior to the Adelaide Test match, will not be available for
the Test match in Melbourne which starts on Boxing Day.
Dr Peter Gregory, ECB Chief Medical Officer, said, "The original medical advice was that the injury would take between three to six weeks to heal and this remains the case. He re-visits a specialist on 24 December and, depending on the outcome of this meeting, I hope he will be fit and available for selection for the remainder of the one-day international series in Australia in the New Year."
