PCB demands compensation from ICC By Our Sports Reporter - 4 December 2002
: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is to tell the game's governing body, the ICC that they would play just two Tests instead of three in New Zealand next year , if they were not compensated for Kiwis missing September's tri series in Nairobi and the third Test of their re-scheduled tour of this country last April. Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests and as many one- day Internationals on their New Zealand tour next December. New Zealand who were originally to tour Pakistan for three Tests and three one-day matches in 2001 had postponed the trip following the events of Sept 11. The tour was rescheduled for April-May of this year with the Kiwis agreeing to play only two Tests, instead of the actual three and three one-dayers, saying they would make up for one Test by appearing in the tri series for which they did not turn up in Kenya. The matter is currently with the Dispute Committee of the ICC which is to give a verdict in due course. © Dawn
