Angel to lead Warriors
Western Australia Cricket Association - 4 December 2002

THE Western Australian Cricket Association today announced its team for a Pura Cup match against Tasmania at the WACA Ground from December 8 to 11.

Experienced fast-bowler Jo Angel has been named captain. It will be the first time in his 97-game Pura Cup/Sheffield Shield career that the popular veteran leads his state.

Former Zimbabwe Test batsman Murray Goodwin will be vice-captain.

The team is: Jo Angel (captain), Murray Goodwin (vice-captain), Beau Casson, Michael Clark, Geoff Cullen, Scott Meuleman, Matthew Nicholson, Marcus North, Chris Rogers, Luke Ronchi, Adam Voges and Paul Wilson.

Three players, all-rounder Beau Casson (19), wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi (21) and batsman Adam Voges (23), will make first-class debuts.

The Western Warriors team announced today is one of the most inexperienced in WA's 54-year Pura Cup/Sheffield Shield history.
