Somerset Cricket Board lost their first round match of the 2003 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy today at Camborne by the narrowest of margins. Resuming on 91 for 2, the Somerset Board XI were helped towards their target of 302 by a fourth wicket partnership of 85 between Arul Suppiah(70) and Wes Durston (50). Richard Timms scored an unbeaten 38, but with the score on 299 for 9 and needing three runs for victory off the last ball Michael Parsons was stumped to deprive the young Somerset side of victory, after they had put up a very brave fight. © SOMERSET
