Windwards the under-19s champs 26 August 2002
Windward Islands won the regional Under-19 limited-overs championship after afternoon rain prematurely ended the final against Guyana at the Melbourne Club ground yesterday. When rain intervened at 2:56 p.m., Guyana, set 201 from 50 overs, were 61 for one from 19.5 overs. Higher placing The match was declared a no-result because both sides did not face a minimum of 25 overs, but the Windwards were crowned champions because of their higher placing in the preceding three-day competition. Summarised scores: Windward Islands 200-9 in 50 overs (Ezikiel Francis 47, Liam Sebastian 45 n.o., Alston Bobb 41; Z. Saffie 3-31, D. Peters 2-23, D. Mohammed 2-25). Guyana 61-1 in 19.5 overs (M. Purken 28, R. Ramgobin 27 n.o.). No result.
