Under Elevens enjoy mixed fortunes

Somerset Under 11's have enjoyed mixed fortunes over the last few weeks.

Against Nottinghamshire at Millfield School batting first the visitors scored 115 in their 45 overs, with Jack Leach, Nick Eggbeer, Alex Thomson and Max Delamian taking two wickets each.

When Somerset batted they were all out of 78, with Will Robinson top scoring with 19.

During the second week of August they took part in the King's College Festival in Taunton, where their first match against Kent was washed out without a ball being bowled.

In their second match against Worcestershire they scored 138 for 8, with Jamie Howson making 24 and Jack Leach hitting an unbeaten 22. Their opponents reached their target without losing a wicket.

Against Cardiff and Wales they fared much better. The visitors batted first and were all out for 66, with Alex Thomson taking 4 wickets for 6 runs, and Jack Leach 3 wickets for 3 runs.

Somerset cruised to their target for the loss of just 2 wickets, with Will Robinson top scoring with 26.
