BCCSL appoints AJ Sports as official clothing sponsor
BCCSL - 20 August 2002

The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka has appointed A.J. Sports of Pakistan as the Official Clothing Sponsor of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team.

Hemaka Amaasuriya, Chairman of the Interim Committee of the BCCSL, and S.I. Haider, Managing Director of A.J. sports, signed a 1 - year agreement in Colombo on August 15.

Aunura Tennekoon, Chief Executive of the BCCSL, Nuski Mohamed, Managing Director of The Cricket Shop (Pvt) Ltd., and Shibly Vicassim, Director Marketing of The Cricket Shop (Pvt) Ltd., also participated in the signing.

"The BCCSL is extremely pleased to enter into a partnership with A.J. Sports, which is an internationally reputed manufacturer of sports clothing," said Amarasuriya.

A.J. Sports is currently the clothing sponsor of the Pakistan and Bangladesh National teams. Their local representative is The Cricket Shop (Pvt) Ltd.
