ICC Champions Trophy tickets go on sale
ICC Media Release - 19 August 2002

Logo
The ICC today announced ticketing details for next month's ICC Champions Trophy tournament in Sri Lanka. Tickets go on public sale on Friday, 23rd August in Sri Lanka and are available to international fans direct from the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL).

The cost of watching the world's leading international teams play 15 matches in 18 days has been set at lower than usual domestic Sri Lankan prices, to encourage as much local support as possible. For overseas visitors used to paying considerably higher prices for top class One Day International cricket, the tournament offers unparalleled value-for-money cricket watching.

For example, reserved seating for all Pool games will cost 500 Sri Lankan Rupees. The same seating will cost 1,000 Rupees for the two semi finals and 2000 Rupees for the final. Standing admission will be 20 Rupees for all Pool matches, 30 Rupees for the semi finals and 50 Rupees for the final. At current exchange rates, approximately 100 Sri Lankan Rupees is equivalent to one US Dollar.

In more detail, ticket prices are:

All Pool Matches Semi Finals Final
Standing areas 20 rupees 30 50
Non-reserved seating 100 rupees 300 500
Reserved seating 500 rupees 1000 2000
