Somerset will need to leave their defeat at The Rose Bowl behind them as they travel north this evening ready for another relegation struggle tomorrow against Nottingham Outlaws in the NUL National League. With the prospect of playing the Outlaws back to back in the space of twenty seven hours the Sabres will be looking for eight vital points if they are to have any chance of avoiding the drop to the second division. Earlier the Somerset coach told me: "This is a must win game for us, and despite being beaten today we will be going up to Trent Bridge with a very positive outlook. We have still got seven NUL games to play which is a potential twenty eight points to be won so we are still in with a real chance of staying in the top division." The Somerset coach has named the same squad who played in the championship match against Hampshire with the addition of Peter Bowler and Steffan Jones. The Welshman, who missed the trip to The Rose Bowl because of an ankle injury is expected to make the start line up. When the two sides met last season it was the Outlaws who were victorious on both occasions. At Trent Bridge in late June they won by 6 wickets and the margin at Taunton a fortnight later was 4 wickets. © Somerset CCC
