Paul Collingwood - Neck op put on hold Media Release - 14 August 2002
The ECB Medical team today confirmed that the Durham and England all-rounder Paul Collingwood is undergoing treatment on a neck injury. Collingwood was due to undergo surgery next week on a disc bulge at the bottom of his neck which is causing problems in his left arm. But the injury is responding well to medication and a decision has been taken to postpone surgery pending a re-assessment by a specialist in a week's time. Collingwood, who featured in all seven of England's NatWest Series matches this summer, was recently named in England's one-day squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka this autumn. © ECB
