Kibworth win ECB Under 13 Club National Championship Media Release - 12 August 2002
Kibworth Cricket Club won the ECB U13 National Club Championship at the tournament finals which were played at Oakham School in Leicestershire from 6-9 August. The Leicestershire club side lifted the Ken Barrington Cup, presented by Mrs Ann Barrington, ahead of the 1,600 other teams which began the tournament back in April. Essex's Wanstead Cricket Club finished runners-up. The eight national finalists were due to play each other once in 20 over matches during the four days of the competition but the final day was washed out by rain. Kibworth, having won their first six matches, were therefore clear winners. After Wanstead in the final table were Roffey, Wolverhampton, Bath, Whitley Hall, Worcester Nomads and Norton. © ECB |
