After rain put paid to much of the day on Monday, Somerset Under-17's enjoyed a full days play against near neighbours Dorset at North Perrott Cricket Club today. Resuming on their overnight total of 150 for 2 Somerset batsman James Hildreth continued his run of good form and scored his second century for the Under 17s this season to enable his side declare on 299 for3. By the end of the innings the talented right handed batsman was unbeaten on 161, after batting for just less than four hours, and facing 205 balls. When they batted Dorset were bowled out for 254 with James Excell being the pick of the bowlers by taking 4 for 61, to help Somerset to a first innings victory. The Under-17's are in action again on Thursday, when they travel to Callington to take on Cornwall. © SOMERSET
