Melvyn Betts reprimanded under ECB Discipline Code ECB Media Release - 6 August 2002
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Warwickshire cricketer, Melvyn Betts, has received three penalty points under the ECB's new discipline code following an incident during Warwickshire's Second Xl Championship match against Essex last week. Betts was reported by Umpire Ken Shuttleworth for a Level Two breach of the new code (showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action). The penalty points remain on Betts's record for a period of 12 months. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any 12-month period will result in an automatic suspension.
