P Mackey, former Kerala all-rounder, passed away at the Regional Cancer Center in Trivandrum on Monday, 29th April 2002. Mackey made 12 appearances for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy, scoring 209 runs and picking 24 wickets.

Mackey's all-round skills are legendary; he went on to captain the state Hockey team. Later in his career, Mackey served as the Kerala State cricket coach.

Mackey is the only Kerala player to have scored a fifty in Ranji Trophy - batting at number eleven. He scored 59 against Hyderabad at Nizamabad in December 1974.

The funeral is to be held at the Vadakara Jumah Mazjid at 10 AM on Tuesday, 30th April 2002.
