Kent Cricket Board appoints new Chairman
Media Release - 24 April 2002
The Kent Cricket Board today announced that Chris Swadkin has taken over as its Chairman in succession to Alan Albury, who has been forced to resign due to ill health. Chris is currently a member of the KCB Executive Committee, and still plays cricket regularly for Blackheath CC and the Kent 50+ team, in addition to managing the Kent Cricket Board XI.
The Board also announced today the resignation of Bill Dover as its Director of Cricket Development. After four years in the job, Bill has decided to pursue his own interests. The Board is in the process of recruiting a successor to Bill and an announcement will be made in due course.
Chris Swadkin paid tribute to them both: "Both Alan and Bill have made substantial contributions to the evolution of the Kent Cricket Board over recent years and we are sorry to lose them. The foundations that they have put in place will serve the recreational game well in the coming years. I would like to pass on my thanks to them both."
