A new initiative to enable local people to access cricket coaching will be launched at the Gloucestershire County Cricket Ground on Friday 26th April.
The partnership between Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and Pertemps Coachright provides the opportunity for budding coaches in the county to learn under the experienced guidance of former triple championship winner Paul Smith. Says Paul: "We aim to deliver a sports activity award encouraging participants to sample the key skills needed to become a qualified cricket coach."
The morning activity between 11am and 12pm will consist of invited participants demonstrating a practical introduction to coaching followed by the opportunity to learn more about future courses from 12 pm until 2pm.
Many educational and voluntary organisations will be in attendance along with current and former professional players and other invited guests. David Graveney and Tim Watts, Pertemps Group Chairman will be on hand to support this new venture.
The Professional Cricketers Association and The England & Wales Cricket Board are also supporting the project.
