St George's Park to host mini-cricket festival Media Release - 13 September 2001
St George's Park will be a buzz of activity on Saturday ,September 15 when approximately 60 teams, representing almost 500 u/10 cricketers will participate in a provincial Bakers mini-cricket festival. According to Tono Mle, EP Cricket Development Manager, the festival will be attended by Mr. Neils Momberg, Director of Amateur Cricket of the UCBSA and Bakers representative, Caroline Madikizela. The programme will start at 09:30 when newly elected EPCB President, Ronnie Pillay will welcome everyone. The matches will commence at 09:45 and end at 13:00. "The purpose of this festival is for cricketers to exhibit what they have been taught throughout the year", said EP Mini Cricket Chairperson Elma Papenfus, and those who excel at this level will be incorporated into the existing squads.
