Vettori to receive MRI scan New Zealand Cricket - 22 October 2001
Daniel Vettori will receive an MRI scan at 7pm tonight, New Zealand time, to determine the extent of the ankle injury he sustained yesterday against the ACT XI in Canberra. Physiotherapist for the CLEAR Black Caps, Dayle Shackel, took Vettori to sports injury specialist Bruce Hamilton, a New Zealander working at the Australian Institute of Sport. "Bruce examined Daniel today but believed the only way to properly identify the problem was to have the MRI scan," says Shackel. "Once we have the results back from the scan, I will discuss them with Bruce, before sitting down with manager Jeff Crowe and Daniel to decide what the prognosis is in terms of Daniel's on-going role on the tour." At 5pm New Zealand time ACT had declared at 439/6 and New Zealand had just started their innings and were 8/0. © New Zealand Cricket
