Sussex bring cricket to Children in Need
Media Release - 9 November 2001
Sussex County Cricket Club has teamed up with Watermark Event Management and the England & Wales Cricket Board to raise money for this year's Children in Need appeal. As part of the entertainment at the Marina we will be offering the chance to come and try out the latest technology available to cricket. A 40ft exhibition trailer will be on site throughout the day and into the evening and there will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to face Glenn McGrath at the Oval, through virtual reality. A competition will be held to see who can score the most runs of 6 balls from the world's greatest fast bowler with the chance to win a Newbery cricket bat.
The event will run from 3pm - 9pm; however, the Roadshow will be operational from 1pm onwards. There will be a small donation required coming onto the trailer (all proceeds to Children in Need) which also includes various reaction testing activities, games and the virtual reality all related to our national summer sport. There will also be a chance to pick up the latest information available for next year's season here at Hove.
Amongst the other attractions at Brighton Marina from 5-9pm; Chris Eubank and Leo Sayer, Pudsey Bear on ice, live laser show, celebrity auction, celebrity look-alike competition, Juice FM Juicy Crew are providing the music and Asda are putting on a caberet and DJ.
