PCB management meeting report Pakistan Cricket Board - 2 November 2001
A series of meeting were held by the chairman PCB, Lt. General Tauqir Zia, over the past three days, with senior officials and various committee members to review the overall working and progress on various matters pertaining to cricket operations, development, finance and administration. The Chairman was given the complete update on the development works, which are in progress, in all the four provinces and making steady headway. The Incharge infrastructure development briefed him about the progress on 12 grounds in Sindh, which are in various stages of development. A total of 20 grounds are under improvement and up gradation in various part of the country, he was told. An annual review of the PCB organization was carried out with the senior management team and manpower requirements were discussed based on a year trail and experience. The PCB management which has been streamlining the entire working of the board also considered further proposals of the computerization to upgrade the systems. Another matter which was seriously considered by the senior management team pertained to reviewing the maintenance expenditure and reduce it with a view to observing maximum possible austerity in the overall expenditure. The Chairman of the National Umpiring Council briefed the Chairman on the progress made by NUC in various projects and its future program to upgrade the umpiring standards. Further discussion was held on the advance draft of the new PCB constitution which is to be finalized and submitted for the final approval to the patron. The procedures of some committees also came under discussion. A meeting was held with the members of Coaching Committee in which basic discussion took place.
Chairman PCB also discussed miscellaneous other matters regarding various other internal and financial matters with the senior management team.
