PCB announces Disciplinary Committee decisions Pakistan Cricket Board - 29 November 2001
The Chairman PCB has made the following decisions based on the recommendations of the PCB Disciplinary Committee pertaining to cases put before it. a. Two years ban be imposed on Mr Azizullah Awan, President of District Cricket Association, Hafizabad, for holding any office in cricket for inclusion of overage players in the Under-19 Grade-II matches and for including players from outside the jurisdiction of Hafizabad. b. Mr. Abdul Hafeez, Secretary, be removed from his office and Adhoc Committee to function immediately in Khanewal under the ex-president Mr. Shafique Ahmed Khattak as its head. c. Match Referee Mahmood Rashid be warned and be kept under observation for violating the code of conduct as match referee. d. One-year ban be imposed on Mr. Zahid Khan Burki President District Cricket Association, Vehari, for holding any office in cricket for violating PCB rules for Under-19 Grade-II Tournament. Suitable replacement will be announced by PCB shortly. e. Umpire Noshad Khan be warned for coming late to the ground. f. Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, despite his public apology, be issued a strict written warning by PCB as his action at Sharjah was not considered a good example for young cricketers.
