Goa tail wags furiously Staff Reporter - 28 November 2001
Goa's tailenders batted resolutely to deny Tamil Nadu a shot at victory in their Ranji Trophy league match at Chennai on Tuesday. Despite a five-wicket haul from L Balaji, Tamil Nadu could not bowl Goa out for less than 158 to notch up an innings victory. Batsmen like Kiran Powar (57) and skipper Amitabh Velaskar (23) used up valuable minutes in their knock. Further down the order, Avadoot Amonkar used 50 minutes and 40 balls to score one run, while Avinash Aware spent an unbeaten 57 minutes and 48 balls without getting off the mark.
