ICC Media Briefing re. BCCI and Virender Sehwag
ICC Media Release - 27 November 2001
ICC Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed will hold a media briefing this afternoon, Tuesday 27th November, at Lord's Cricket Ground to update media on the current position with regard to the BCCI and the issue of selection surrounding Virender Sehwag.
Mr Speed has today written to Mr Jagmohan Dalmiya, President of the BCCI, confirming in great detail why the match at Centurion Park between South Africa and India has been stripped of its Test status. He has also suggested that the BCCI's concerns be raised for discussion at the next meeting of the ICC Executive Board.
Further, he has asked Mr Dalmiya to confirm by mid day on Friday November 30th (Kolkata time) the BCCI's final decision in respect of Virender Sehwag.
