Kent appeal raises £103,000 for youth cricket Media Release - 1 May 2001
Kent County Cricket Club today announced that its Appeal 2000 in aid of the development of youth cricket in Kent raised £103,000. Chairman of the Appeal Committee, Richard Collins, commenting on the outcome of a year of events and fundraising activity, said: "I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the appeal for their generosity. I would also like to pay tribute to the efforts of our Appeal Patrons and to the Appeal Committee who worked so hard in order that the year could be such a success. Thanks to everyone's efforts, youth cricket in the county will now benefit in a way which would never otherwise have been the case." Mr Collins will now chair the committee, comprising members of the County Club, the Kent Cricket Board and the Kent Cricket Youth Trust, which will oversee the programmes and activities which will benefit from the funds raised by the Appeal.
