Adil Nisar leads WAPDA fight back 29 March 2001
An unbeaten century by skipper Adil Nisar spearheaded a spirited fight back by WAPDA against Pakistan Customs on the third day of the Patron's Trophy Grade-I cricket encounter at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Wednesday. WAPDA, who trailed by 167 runs on the first innings, closed the penultimate day of the four-day clash on 239 for three, according to details available here. They now have a slim lead of 72 with seven wickets standing. Resuming their second innings at nine without loss, WAPDA were reduced to 25 for two before a third wicket stand of 98 between the left- handed Bilal Khilji, who batted patiently for his 32 off 142 balls, and Adil Nisar lifted the score to 132. Adil, who is batting with 107 off 253 deliveries with 14 boundaries, and Hasan Adnan (66 off 133 balls, 10 fours) improved WAPDA's chance of saving the match with an unfinished fourth wicket partnership that has so far realized 116 runs. © Dawn
