Scholarship XI's win
Canterbury Cricket Association - 27 March 2001
Canterbury Cricket's Lincoln Scholarship XI's both recorded victories in limited over fixtures held last week. The Mens team defeated the touring Crusaders team while the Womens XI accounted for a Canterbury selection in a match held at Hagley Oval on Sunday 25th March.
Canterbury Cricket, in association with Lincoln University, have allocated sporting scholarships to promising cricketers. This season, for the first time, matches have been organized for the Mens and Womens scholarship students. Canterbury Cricket is keen to re-institute the Universities Tournament and has initiated discussion with New Zealand Cricket and the Universities Sports Council to progress this concept.
