Ntini bags four as Busta Cup XI fold MWP - 5 March 2001
Makhaya Ntini grabbed three wickets in six balls without conceding a run to bring about a spectacular close to the Busta XI innings just before tea on the second day of South Africa's three day match at the Everest Cricket Club on Monday. Having reached lunch well placed at 124-1, the composite XI were immediately set on the back foot by Allan Donald who recovered from a disasterous first spell to trap Sylvester Joseph lbe with the first ball after the break. Donald, who conceded an embarrasing 40 runs from his first six overs, then had Tonito Willett caught at first slip in his next over to finish his second spell of six overs with 2-11. Ryan Hinds tried valiantly to hold the middle order together with an unbeaten 27 but the tourists were not to be denied their fightback and Nicky Boje cleverly teased the impressive Daren Ganga (80 -- 114 balls, 12x4) out of his crease for Mark Boucher to complete a sharp stumping. Ntini then finished the innings off by providing Boucher with two edges in successive balls to remove Kurt Wilkinson, who was suffering from food poisoning, and tailender Kerry Jeremy before clean bowling Ricky Christopher. Busta XI wicketkeeper Courtney Browne also suffered a nasty attack of food poisoning and was unable to bat. Sherwin Campbell kept wicket when South Africa began their second innings with a lead of 75. © CricInfo LTD
