Shoaib Akhtar reported for suspect bowling action New Zealand Cricket - 1 March 2001
Umpires, Doug Cowie and Steve Dunne, have reported Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar for a suspect bowling action demonstrated during last night's One Day International between New Zealand and Pakistan at Carisbrook Dunedin. The following is a media release from International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee, Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka. It outlines the process which has been agreed by the ICC member nations to deal with this situation. All media enquires on this matter will be handled by New Zealand Cricket's National Umpiring Manager, Brian Aldridge. Ranjan Madugalle will not be available for comment on the subject.
