ICC Anti-Corruption Unit Confirms Gupte Position
ICC Media Release - 22 June 2001
The ICC Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) today reaffirmed its position with regard to Mukesh Gupte, the Indian bookmaker at the centre of allegations against a number of international cricketers.
"On Monday I confirmed that the Unit has given Mr Gupte until the 1st of July to agree to give evidence in respect of the non-Indian players named in the Indian CBI report. Contrary to suggestions carried by a number of media sources since then, nothing has changed in respect of that position or deadline," said Sir Paul Condon, director of the ACU.
