Western Union Junior Tykes hold open day Media Release - 21 June 2001
The Yorkshire County Cricket Club players, including England stars Darren Gough, Michael Vaughan, Matthew Hoggard and Craig White, will be passing on expert tips to young Yorkshire cricket fans at the Western Union Junior Tykes Open Day on Sunday, 24 June 2001. The 100 lucky youngsters selected for the Open Day, which includes children from across the region, will be able to put their skills to the test in a number of small-sided games involving YCCC Captain David Byas and his team. They will also be able to question the players on their successful season so far, which currently sees them topping the County Championship, and gain some much sought after autographs before sitting back to enjoy Yorkshire Phoenix's match that afternoon against Northamptonshire Steelbacks. The Junior Tykes may also be able to give some tips of their own as Western Union will be challenging the Yorkshire squad to a frisbee throwing contest. The player throwing it the furthest will be able to nominate a charity to which Western Union will donate £250. © Yorkshire CCC
