The young off-spinner Shoaib Malik suffered a fracture in his right shoulder when he collided with Shahid Afridi while attempting to catch out Trescothick off Saqlain Mushtaq in the final stages of the one-day match between England and Pakistan at Lord's on Tuesday.

The doctors examined Malik shortly after the incident and confirmed that he had sustained a fracture. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman said on Wednesday that Shoaib Malik would stay with the team for another four days as he had to undergo further check-ups and treatment.
