1. PCB has announced National and Junior Selection Committees. National Selection Committee comprises Wasim Bari as Chairman with Mohsin Hasan Khan, Shafiq Ahmed and Aaqib Javed as members. The Junior Selection Committee will be headed by Zaheer Abbas and would have Rashid Khan, Farrukh Zaman and Sultan Rana as members.
2. With a view to ensure more commitment in the process of selection the PCB has formulated a policy for selection of players by the Selection Committee. The tasks of the Selection Committee would involve:
1. Evaluation/assessment of current Pakistani test cricketers and their future prospects for Pakistan
2. Identifying promising Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 cricketers for inclusion in PCB academies.
3. Assessment of cricketers playing in domestic circuit, their skill, talent and potential.
4. Selection of Pakistani team on home and away basis as per PCB's tour schedules.
3. To carry out these duties, the members of Selection Committee would be present at domestic matches. Their responsibilities would include submission of reports along with recommendations of Chairman PCB.
4. Selection Committee would discuss with Chairman PCB, captain and coach the performances of individual players and formulate strategies for future selection. They will submit the team for approval by Chairman PCB.
