Inter School Cricket Tournament gets underway Pakistan Cricket Board - 10 July 2001
The PCB Instaphone Inter School Cricket Tournament was launched simultaneously at five major centres, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Rawalpindi, on Tuesday. The finals of the tournament will be played on July 24, which has 16 teams playing on league basis respectively at each centre. Former Pakistan Captain and Chief Selector Imtiaz Ahmed was the Chief Guest at the opening match played at Gaddafi Stadium between Government Central Model High School and Custom Public School. Former Pakistan captain and current Chief Selector Wasim Bari was the Chief Guest at Karachi and introduced to two teams St. Paul High School versus National High School in the opening match played. Mr. Amam Bux Balooch, Regional Manager National Bank of Pakistan, Mr. Yawar Saeed and Farrukh Zaman were the Chief Guests respectively at Quetta, Rawalpindi and Peshawar on the opening matches at their centres.
The scorecard of the Lahore match is enclosed. The Opening match of Instaphone Inter School Cricket Tournament at Lahore played between Govt. Central Model School and Customs High School at Gaddafi Stadium was won by Govt. Central Model School by 217 runs.
