PCB Chairman reviews working of NCA and RCAs Pakistan Cricket Board - 3 July 2001
A comprehensive review of the National and Regional Cricket Academies took place at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman PCB. Chairman PCB had called all the senior coaches of the Academies from Karachi, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi and Peshawar to have a first hand evaluation. Also present in the meeting were the Director PCB, Rameez Hasan Raja the newly included Chairman of Development Committee and senior officials of the Board.
The Academies were launched on May 14, with Sheikhupura Academy starting on 1st June and they are to still complete its remaining period of its 12-week tenure, which ends on August 24. A critical evaluation of the training, the teething problems, and its usefulness was undertaken along with relevant suggestions during the lengthy meeting held at the PCB Headquarters Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. The Chairman was also informed about the inter - academy matches being arranged shortly and directed the coaches to also plan matches against local clubs also to give the players additional exposure and experience.
